The municipality of Tayasan is indeed full of surprises when it comes to both honoring their patron saint Anthony of Padua and celebrating their there Fiesta.
This Year Miss Vallehermoso 2016 was once again a successful event. Miss Vallehermoso 2016 pageant and Coronation Night is the high lights of the municipality, and it was schedule the night before at actual fiesta.
It was our second visit at the Kanglambat Festival 2016 in Vallehermoso, the most northern province of Negros Oriental. The dancers were doing their very best to entertain all spectators, despite the heat.
This year’s Miss La Libertad 2016 Pageant was once again successfully held a day before the Pandayag Festival date. Pandanyag Festival of La Libertad Negros Oriental is celebrated annually on April 28.
The Pakol Festival 2016 of Santa Catalina was, as expected, another joyful and eye-catching event. With little monkeys dancing on the streets, more attention was caught from the viewers of the said festival.
The Yag Yag Festival 2016 of Barangay Cangmating in Sibulan was like each year a colorful event. Hundreds of cut crabs and even cuter crablets were dancing along the highway towards the showdown in Cangmating.
Ten lovely lady were participating in the search for Miss Basay 2016. The event was split into two evenings, the presentation and talent night followed the actual coronation night two days later.
We happily followed the invitation to visit the Municipality of Basay for the Kapaw Festival 2016. The small municipality on the border to Negros Occidental may not be on the list of most visitors, but is certainly worth a trip over a weekend to enjoy the beaches and beautiful nature.
Basay in Negros Oriental is famous for their Kapaw Festival. The festival that celebrates the abundant catch of fish. Kapaw is the local word for “overflowing”. Due to the numerous fishes during their catch, the fish shimmers on top of the sea water for the fishermen of Basay easily to harvest.
