Kapaw Festival 2016- Basay – Schedule

Basay in Negros Oriental is famous for their Kapaw Festival. The festival that celebrates the abundant catch of fish. Kapaw is the local word for “overflowing”. Due to the numerous fishes during their catch, the fish shimmers on top of the sea water for the fishermen of Basay easily to harvest.

After a great performance during the Showdown, the eight contingents had a short lunchbreak before they started at 1:30 pm to parade through the streets of Bayawan City for the Tawo Tawo Festival 2016 Street Dancing competition.

The Tawo-Tawo Festival 2016 Showdown was scheduled for 8:00 am. the 8 contingents of the Tawo-Tawo Festival Showdown 2016 brought us very fast into a cheery mood and we had, like each year a blast. Here some impressions of the showdown.

Langub Festival 2016 – Street Dancing

The Langub Festival 2016 street dancing competition in Mabinay was once again the highlight of the fiesta celebrations in the cave-capital of the Philippines.

The search for Miss Mabinay 2016 was held one day before the Langub Festival. Nine lovely candidates were competing for the title in front of a full house.

No fiesta without a beauty pageant and of course the municipality of Jimalalud made no difference. The search for Miss Jimalalud 2016 was held in the municipality gym in front of many VIPs including honorable Roel Degamo.
