Miss Silka 2016
The Dumaguete Convention Center was the venue for the Coronation Night of Miss Silka 2016 Beauty Pageant. The winner of the Dumaguete contest will join the Miss Silka 2016 – Philippines event in November 2016 in Manila. 15 lovely candidates from all over Negros Oriental were ready to present themselves to a good crowd waiting in anticipation of see the performance of the beautiful young ladies.
Let’s start off with some of the pictures we were allowed to take backstage before the pageant and some VIPs
While we complain many times about the delays of events, we also are happy to say that the organizers of this event had all in place and the Miss Silka 2016 contest started just a few minutes past 8:00pm. The whole event was very good organized and despite the fact that 15 candidates had to change three times, had short interviews and a total of eight candidates made the final round, the whole pageant lasted just a little bit over 2 hours. That is how to organize and run a good professional event!
The tight organization and schedule had also the effect, that the audience didn’t get bored or felt asleep even before anything happens on stage, like we saw many times over the last years at similar events. All were wide awake, and cheering for their candidates from the first to the last minute.
Miss Silka 2016 – Bikini
The talent and bikini part of the contest were held earlier this month. However, it would not be a complete contest if the contestants don’t get on stage in their beach-wear too. The 15 sexy young ladies made the heart of the guys in the convention center beat a bit faster than normal, but see yourself.
After a brief intermission all 15 beauties entered the stage in their evening gowns. Blue was the color of the evening. Graceful and elegant are probably the words to describe the performance of all contestants. After the first walk in gowns it was time to announce the eight finalists.
While we would not be able to announce a winner, the judges had to make a tough decision who will represent Dumaguete City and Negros Oriental at the National Finals in November.
