A cheerful, fully packed Municipal Gym in Basay witnessed the search for Miss Basay 2015. Like almost with most beauty-contests the event was split into two evenings, the Talent and the coronation night. March 15 was the talent night where the 10 candidates showed their talents in different stage performances. Like common during this events, a lot of more or less well known people needed to be introduced on both nights and it took a while until the lovely candidates entered the stage. Therefore our first gallery is also about the more or less important people and others involved in the event.

After the Talent night the candidates had a rest day to prepare for the coronation night of Miss Basay 2015 beauty pageant. Everybody who witnessed the first part of the pageant was aware, that this will be a tough decision for the judges.

In the first round the contestants presented themselves in stunning festival costumes, which certainly didn’t make the decision easier for the judges.

The swim-wear round was kept rather short, which was probably to the liking of the protective fathers and jealous boyfriends of the candidates for Miss Basay 2015, but certainly a bit a disappointment for most men in the audience.

Miss Dumaguete 2014 – Coronation Night

The Miss Dumaguete 2014 Coronation Night took place as on of the main-events of the 2014 Sandurot Festival. Once again the Dumaguete Convention Center was chosen as a venue, and once again the delay was extraordinary. The main task of the event was to find the successor of Lorraine Kendrickson -Miss Dumaguete 2013- who represented the City of Gentle People most successful at the Miss World – Philippines Pageant.

The “Who-is-Who” of Dumaguete was in full numbers present, completed with other VIPs of the national show- and business sector. Reading their names, glorious achievements and curriculum vitae plus all sponsors took more time than the seven candidates spend on stage to present themselves to the board of judges and the audience. Following a view pictures of some of the honorable guests of this event.

Finally it was time to start the Miss Dumaguete 2014 Coronation Night with the production number.

“History repeats itself” must have been the theme of the swimsuit round. The candidates were wearing bathing suits which obviously reassembled the style of the 60s and reminded one of our team-members strongly of the beach wear his grandma was wearing back in the early 70s

The gowns were also held in a greyish silver, so it appeared, that the overall theme of the event-planner was more directed towards the 70s instead of the modern woman of the 21st century.

Finally the show got to its highlight, the announcing of the different awards and the new Miss Dumaguete

Miss Valencia 2014 – Coronation Night

The decision who will be Miss Valencia 2014 was felt during the coronation night at the municipality gym. The event was held in front of a enthusiastic crowd who saw a good show with professional moderation and entertaining intermission numbers. Following some backstage shots of some candidates, as well as VIPs, VUPs and many helping hands.

Finally the show started and the candidates presented themselves in stunning colorful costumes.

Now it was finally time for the section of the contest all real men were waiting for. It was time to get sexy and show some skin…

After a short intermission number it was time for the candidates to get into their evening gowns. Black was the color of the night, which made the Miss Valencia 2014 to a rather unique contest. IT was a tough decision for the judges pick the winner out of those lovely candidates.

Miss Silliman 2014 – Coronation Night

Last night was the Miss Silliman 2014 Coronation night at the Lamberto Macias Sports Complex. While the event was not sold out, and some seats remained empty, it was still a good crowed, which supported their favourites in a frenetic way with cheers, lights, banners and all kind of “noise-makers”. After the last judge finally arrived and was introduced the show started with the presentation of the stunning candidates who ran for the crown of Miss Silliman 2014.

At this point a quick thank you to all organizers, artists, announcers and sponsors. Without them an event like the Miss Silliman Coronation Night would not be possible. Some of them are in the next little gallery:

For the sake of political correctness, the swim-wear round is almost not existing at beauty pageants in Dumaguete. No difference here. The contestants had to choose a Zodiac Sign and presented themselves in a kind of costueme according their choice.

Miss Silka Dumaguete 2014 – Coronation Night

The decision who represents Dumaguete in November at the Miss Silka Philippines 2014 contest is felt. The Miss Silka Dumaguete Coronation Night was successfully held on Saturday, July 26-2014 at Luce Auditorium. Despite the ridiculous rules for entering this “wanna-be-something-better-but-are-actually-not” place, we were able to get at least a few shots on the hard-drive. Having never attended ( for good reason) this educational facility, we could not know that flash-lights are prohibited – for a reason no one could explain us- so we needed to adjust some stuff before getting ready to shoot.

After the production number the 14 lovely candidates got in their swim-suit and impressed with their pure beauty in golden bikinis. The actual competition was already held a few weeks back at The Oasis (Florentina Homes)

Of course the lovely candidates needed some time to change into their evening gowns, so there were some intermission numbers. One of the teenage girls in the audience had here certainly the time of her (rather short up to now) life and got brought on stage by Bryan Termulo, runner-up in Pinoy Pop Superstar Year 3. And we can tell her heart was making some extra beats. Surely many teenage girls in the audience would have given more than 30 Peso load to change with her.

Blue was the color of the evening for the Miss Silka Dumaguete 2014, and all looked stunning in their gowns.

After the presentation in evening gowns the Top 5 of lasts years competition entered the stage and it was time to pass the crowns to the new Miss Silka Dumaguete and the runner ups.
