Miss Bayawan 2017
Bayawan City – Negros Oriental
We happily followed the invitation of our friends in Bayawan and travelled to the wonderful city in the south of Negros Island. The Miss Bayawan 2017 pageant was held the night before the Tawo Tawo Festival at the City Quadrangle. After a nice dinner and a short stroll on the colorful lit plaza we took our seats in front of the stage and waited with hundreds of Bayawanons for the show to begin.
The contest started at 9:00 pm with the prayers, the national anthem, and the hymn of Bayawan, When the eight contestants entered the stage for their opening number, the audience erupted in loud cheers. After the first glimpse on the candidates it was clear, that the search for Miss Bayawan 2017 will be a tough race.
The program of the night was very well planned and went on a fast pace from highlight to highlight. This way, the audience won’t fall asleep during endless speeches and intermissions. Very well done!
After the introduction of the judges and reading of the contest rules, which are in Bayawan City actually a City ordinance, the eight contestants returned in bikinis for the most anticipated round of the pageant… at least for most of the guy watching the show.
The evening gowns were in fiery red and the contestants presented themselves with grace and beauty, making it for the judges even harder to decide who will be the new Miss Bayawan 2017. The audience and we simply enjoyed the evening.
After just over 2 hours all points were calculated and the new Queen of the city could be announced.
