Langub Festival 2016 – Street Dancing
The Langub Festival 2016 street dancing competition in Mabinay was once again the highlight of the fiesta celebrations in the cave-capital of the Philippines.

The Langub Festival 2016 street dancing competition in Mabinay was once again the highlight of the fiesta celebrations in the cave-capital of the Philippines.
The search for Miss Mabinay 2016 was held one day before the Langub Festival. Nine lovely candidates were competing for the title in front of a full house.
No fiesta without a beauty pageant and of course the municipality of Jimalalud made no difference. The search for Miss Jimalalud 2016 was held in the municipality gym in front of many VIPs including honorable Roel Degamo.
The Little Big Town of Jimalalud certainly knows how to throw great fiesta. A week of celebrations highlighted in the Sinolog sa Jimalalud Street Dancing. The streets of the municipality where filled with excited spectators cheers on the hundreds of dancers from all participating contingents.
Mabinay’s Langub Festival is celebrated on January 24 as the second of the Festival year in Negros Oriental after the Hambabalud Festival in Jimalalud. The celebrations start already a week before the actual festival date with many events.

Not being tired of Christmas and New Year celebration the annual Fiesta celebrations start already on 2nd of January and peak on Wednesday the 13th with the Sinulog sa Jimalalud, also widely known as Himbabalud Festival.
On December 27, 2015 at around 1:29pm an ash eruption occurred from the active crater of the Kanlaon Volcano. The ash eruption of Mt Kanlaon could be heard in the surrounding Barangays and Cities in Negros Oriental and Occidental.
