Wayboga Festival 2018 – Street Dancing and Showdown
Although not all things wen as planned, the street dancing happened! Being extremely late from the schedule, things had to be rushed once the street dancing started. The street dancing was scheduled for 2:00 pm, however, there were some groups were not yet ready at the time and the panel of judges has not yet been completed.
There were only four group of dancers, each representing a school in Amlan. With only four group of dancers, the celebration may have sounded brittle and small. But do not underestimate the quantity over quality! Despite the heat and the few head counts, all the contingents and dancers were able to give their best. We got to tell you, those costumes aren’t fabric they are body paint. So, imagine the heat striking their colorful painted skin while dancing in the heat.
After the street dancing, all the groups went to the covered court of Amlan to get ready for the showdown. It was getting dark by that time but the lights from the gym enlightened the atmosphere and the empty court.
The Wayboga Festival of Amlan is surely one of the events the DC-Team looks forward to every year. It is a unique celebration that serves a cause in promoting something that is true and dear to the municipality. Abante Amlan!
