The Miss Bayawan 2018 Beauty pageant plays an important role in the fiesta celebration of Bayawan City in Negros Oriental. It was celebrated on February 17, 2018, at the Kan-anay area of the Bayawan Boulevard Area.
For this year’s beauty pageant, eight lovely candidates battled their way to the title and crown as Miss Bayawan 2018. The DC-Team arrived a day before to the coronation night to watch the Tawo-Tawo Festival 2018 Street Dancing and Showdown. Thanks to the Tourism Office of Bayawan and City Mayor Pryde Henry Teves for the accommodation and the meals to keep us going during the said fiesta celebration.
Coronation Night
At first the whole program was delayed; however, it was more or less due to the fear of a rainy night at the open stage in the Bayawan Boulevard. A slight drizzle was spotted before the program and everyone took cover in case it would pour heavily. But even the sky gods were excited to see the beauties of Bayawan that a few minutes later, the skies were clear and sparkling with stars.
The program kicked-off with the usual prayer and singing of the national anthem. Then the program officially started with the production number, wherein the candidates introduced themselves in their festival attire. Then it was quickly followed by the bikini round; where the candidates showcased their steaming hot figures.
Unlike the old scheme of having the evening gown and the question and answer portion before the announcement of the winners, the organizers moved the question and answer after the bikini round. This also gave a better and longer view of the candidate’s curves and pretty faces.
In just about two hours, the production number, bikini round, Q&A and the evening gown was done. To our surprise, Bayawan City and its organizers know how to put on a quick and still eventful show.
