NORECO II Waves Penalties During Pandemic

NORECO II will wave penalties. With the pandemic still ongoing, plenty of people are having a difficult time finding a job and earning money. To support the people, NORECO II will also be gracing the period of payment. Read the full advisory below!

In compliance with the advisory from the Energy Regulatory Commission dated October 29, 2020, NORECO II will not implement disconnection of electric services for unpaid bills not higher than 40kWh/month. The 40kWh/month threshold is twice the ERC-approved lifeline consumption of NORECO II which is 20kWh/month.

This policy of no disconnection shall cover the billing period from September (effectivity of the Bayanihan to Recover as One Act) to December 2020.

Under the advisory, distribution utilities are directed to implement a minimum of 30-day grace period on all payments falling due within the period of *Enhanced Community Quarantine (ECQ) and Modified Enhanced Community Quarantine (MECQ) without incurring interests, penalties and other charges. Any unpaid balance after the 30-day grace period shall be payable in three (3) equal monthly installments without incurring interests, penalties and other charges.

Member-consumer-owners who are able to settle their bills within the original due date are encouraged to do so to help maintain the cash flow in the energy supply chain and ensure continuous supply of electricity.

Government Offices, Government Agencies, Government Owned and Controlled Corporations, and other Government instrumentalities are not covered by this advisory.

Moreover, by virtue of Board Resolution No. 200-20 dated October 27, 2020, NORECO II extends the grace period to 15 days from the due date for bills with the billing period from September to December 2020.

The cooperative extended the grace period from 7 days to 15 days from the due date to give time to the MCOs to settle their bills. This is in consonance with the Bayanihan 2 of the government.

The cooperative also continues to implement our special promo wherein disconnected accounts from 2008 to 2013 will only be imposed a ten percent (10%) penalty interest, waiving all other interests.

For inquiries please call the Consumer Welfare Desk at 422-6522 / 225-4830 / 09173224237 / 09088641681 or Finance Services Department at 226-3185 / 226-34936.

We are not NORECO II! If you have further questions please get in touch with the correct office.

    Hi,
I would like to know what the current grace period as of 5/8/2023 for NORECO2 bills.
And I noticed you also have another article for GCash payment for NORECO2 bills that was helpful. I also have a question for that one. Since GCash is not real time payment how many business days will the payment post in NOREC2’s system?
    Thank you.
