Miss Santa Catalina 2018

When the Plaza of Santa Catalina is jampacked and the sound could be heard all the way up to the neighboring municipality of Bayawan, it must be the Miss Santa Catalina beauty pageant. Eight candidates were ready to compete for this years crown of Miss Santa Catalina 2018. It is together with the Pakol Festival the highlight of the fiesta celebrations on Santa Catalina.
The competition started exactly on the spot as announced, in Filipino time and the lovely contestants entered the stage after the obligatory prayers and national anthem in their colorful festival costumes. We let the pictures speak for themselves.
The contestants for the Miss Santa Catalina 2018 title had no time to rest. Even the talent night was held earlier, they had to change four times during the pageant. Mastering that is a great achievement by all involved, specially the handlers backstage which were able to keep things flowing that the event was moving on as planned.
A contest like that always drags a lot of VIPs and VUPs to the venue. However, they could take the attention away from the lovely candidates who mastered not only al change-overs but also the Q&A section of the pageant in a very professional way.
The excitement and tension were huge when the candidates entered the stage in their stunning evening gowns to finally find out who will be Miss Santa Catalina 2018. We certainly were glad that we just were witnessing the pageant as it would be very hard if not impossible to decide the winner, but that’s what judges are for, the DC-Team simply enjoys and takes some pictures for you our valuable visitors.
