The municipality of Mabinay is located about 90 kilometers north of Dumaguete City, the capital of Negros Oriental. It is home to hundreds of caves in the province and the country. Hence, it is named the Cave Capital of the Philippines. The town claims to have over 400 caves and roughly 100 of them are known and 50 of them are explored. Aside from the caves, it is also known for its grand festivals and the Mabinay Spring.
