Now Five Years of Validity!
As ordered by the Philippine President Rodrigo Duterte, the Land Transportation Office (LTO) and the Department of Transportation (DOT) has lengthen the validity of the driver’s license from three years to five years.
It may seem as if the president himself is too tired to renew his driver’s license every now and then. As a father to all, he feels that every Filipino and other welcomed visitor need to enjoy the sunny country with less hustle in their own vehicle and transportation. Say hello to the new driver’s license cards in the Central Visayas!
New Printer for New Driver’s License Cards
With the 20 new printing machines allotted to the Central Visayas, mainly for licensing centers and extension offices of LTO-7, about 300-400 cards per day can be printed depending on the internet connection.
The Central Visayas regions only eight licensing offices are able to pass the needed 100 Mbps internet connection required for printing the license cards. Among them are as followed: Cebu City Licensing Center, Lapu-Lapu City Extension Office, Danao City District Office, Talisay City Extension Office, Carcar City District Office, Toledo City, Bayawan City District Office and LTO in Robinson’s Dumaguete.
What’s New in the License Cards?
The new license cards are laser engraved and are made of polycarbonate material which contains several security features. Living in a fast technology-based world, it is just right that we update the old plastic cards. Of course, further information such as emergency contact person, blood type, emergency number, and address will be engraved on the card as well.
