According to General Ricardo Marquez, head of the Philippine National Police (PNP) in the Negros Island Region (NIR), conducting the elections can be done peacefully through the combined efforts of the community and the government.
The Commission on Higher Elections in Negros Oriental has voted on disregarding the program primarily because there are subjects on legality that are still left unanswered.
