Mt. Kanlaon doesn’t calm down. Another ash eruption around 6:20pm today, March 29, 2016 took place and lasted for 12 minutes. It is reported, that the plume rose 1.200 Meters above the active crater.
The Libod Sayaw means literally “Dancing around” or dancing through the streets. The “Bindoyanon” or people from Bindoy way of thanks giving and sharing of blessings from their fruitful harvest of fishes and other sea foods. This year they prepare lots of activities to celebrate their annual fiesta.
Basay in Negros Oriental is famous for their Kapaw Festival. The festival that celebrates the abundant catch of fish. Kapaw is the local word for “overflowing”. Due to the numerous fishes during their catch, the fish shimmers on top of the sea water for the fishermen of Basay easily to harvest.

Pasayaw Festival 2016, is a celebration of Festival of Abundant vegetable harvest a mashed-up word of “Pasalamat Pinaagi sa Sayaw” (which means thanksgiving through dancing), was created to praise God for all the blessings Canlaon City received.
Bayawan City is getting ready to celebrate the Tawo Tawo Festival 2016. The whole February is filled with events with the highlights being of course the Street Dancing competition and the Showdown of the Tawo Tawo Festival 2016.
Mabinay’s Langub Festival is celebrated on January 24 as the second of the Festival year in Negros Oriental after the Hambabalud Festival in Jimalalud. The celebrations start already a week before the actual festival date with many events.
Not being tired of Christmas and New Year celebration the annual Fiesta celebrations start already on 2nd of January and peak on Wednesday the 13th with the Sinulog sa Jimalalud, also widely known as Himbabalud Festival.
