Buglasan Festival 2022 is the grandest event in the province of Negros Oriental. It is also known as the “Festival of Festivals”, where in different municipalities and cities showcase their own festival in one grand showdown. The week-long celebration of Buglasan highlights of course the showdown and street dancing competition. Other highlight events include the celebration of the Miss Negros Oriental 2022 and the Hip Hop and Street Dancing Competition. After three years, the face-to-face celebration is finally back!

The showdown competition was held at Lamberto Macias Sports and Cultural Complex last October 30, 2022. Aside from the governor and the different mayors from the municipalities and cities of the province, the program was attended by a special guest. Mayor of Yeongdong-gun (South Korea), Jeong Yeong-Chul, along with his officials seated front seat to fully enjoy the Buglasan fever!

Buglasan Festival 2022 – Showdown

There were seven festivals that joined this year’s competition. The Tapasayaw Festival of Bais City, Puhag Festival of Valencia, Carabao de Colores of Vallehermoso, Mantuod Festival of Manjuyod, Pasalamat Festival of Canlaon City, Bodbod Festival of Tanjay City, and Sandurot Festival of Dumaguete City.

It was great to hear the loud banging of the drums once more, making the hearts of Negrosanons and guests leap with excitement. To watch full showdown of each group, check out our YouTube channel!

Buglasan Festival 2022 – Street Dancing

Another most awaited part of the festival is the street dancing competition. The streets of Dumaguete City (capital of the province) is filled with colorful floats and festival costumes for everyone to see and enjoy. They paraded the streets from Looc Bypass going to Freedom Park.
