Libod Sayaw Festival 2018
Bindoy – Negros Oriental
The celebration of the Libod Sayaw Festival 2018 is the highlight event of the whole Bindoy fiesta and festivities. The active municipality of Bindoy is known throughout Negros Oriental as a town rich in marine resources. With this, the town celebrates a thanksgiving tradition to their patron saint, St. Vicente Ferrer through the Libod Sayaw Festival Street Dancing and Showdown.
Among the different municipalities and cities here in Negros Oriental, Bindoy is not only known for being rich in marine resources but also for being super hospitable and welcoming to their guests. The DC-Team were well-accommodated thanks to the organization of Bindoy Mayor Valente D. Yap and his active Tourism Officers and other government officials in Bindoy.
Libod Sayaw Festival 2018 – Street Dancing Showdown
The Libod Sayaw Festival 2018 Street Dancing was held around the municipality’s streets around three in afternoon, while the Libod Sayaw Festival 2018 Showdown was held at the Bindoy Track and Athletic Field. For this year’s competition of the festival, only five contingents participated. Hence, the competition was concluded before the sun could set.
The colorful costumes of the Libod Sayaw Festival in Bindoy brought more color and joy to the municipality. Despite the heat of the sun of that Wednesday afternoon, the eager viewers and spectators stood still just to see the performers passing by. We lost fingercount, but there must have been thousands of people lining up along the roads. Aside from enjoying the festival dance, people who were at the street dancing had a far greater souvenir that no one could buy…a good time and tan lines.
After the street dancing, the performers went for the second part of the competition. The whole celebration of the Libod Sayaw Festival 2018 was indeed a sight to see. With the heavy beats of the drums, the blowing of the trumpets and the melody of the choir-like singers, each of the performing groups made quite a spectacular show. Until next year Bindoy!
