Elections 2016
The Sangguniang Kabataan (youth council) and Barangay Elections 2016 are held nationwide on October 31, 2016 closing the election circle for 2016. Comelec Offices are reminding all valid voters to get registered on time, offices are open on Saturday, Sundays and Holidays to accommodate the broadest number of registrants.
Registration Period starts July 15 to July, 30 2016 for the applications for registration of voters for the barangay elections and Applications for membership to the Katipunan ng Kabataan (KK).
Age Requirements:
- Voter in the SK Election at least 15 years old but not more than 30 years old on election day.
- Voters in Barangay Election at least 18 years old on the election day
- Candidates in the 2016 Election at least 18 years old but not more than 24 years old on election day.
Candidates for SK must be a resident of the barangay for not less than 1 year immediately preceding the day of the elections, and not be related with the second civil degree of consanguinity or affinity to any incumbent elected national official or to any incumbent elected regional, provincial, city, municipality, or barangay official, in the locality where he or she seeks to be elected.

Approval or disapproval of applications for, registration as voters for the barangay elections and membership to the Katipunan ng Kabataan.
Friday August 19 2016
Last day to post the list of approved and disapproved applications for registration as voters for the barangay elections and membership to the Katipunan ng Kabataan.
Thursday August 25, 2016
Last day to file petition for inclusion of voters.

Period to constitute the members of the Board
Saturday October 01, 2016 to November 07, 2016
Election Period. Note Prohibited Acts:
- Transfer or movements of officers and employee in the civil service.
- Bearing , carrying or transporting firearms or other deadly weapon, unless authorized in writing by the commission.
- Use of security personnel or bodyguards by candidates, unless authorized in writing by the commission.

The SK (youth council) was put on hold before the last barangay elections in 2013. In January 2016 President Aquino signed a Reform Law for the responsibilities and duties of this council.
