Felipe Antonio Ipe Remollo will take over the position as Mayor of Dumaguete City. In a close race Ipe Remollo outnumbered incumbent Vice Mayor Woodrow Maquiling Sr. by 2,386 votes.

A recent study shows, that the concentration of microplastics found in rabittfish in the Tañon Strait is above average. The Fish were purchased from fishermen in Dumaguete and Bais as well as in Ayungon and Manjuyod.
