Sandurot Festival 2017 – Street Dancing Parade
Dumaguete City – Negros Oriental
The Sandurot Festival 2017 – Street Dancing Parade was scheduled for Saturday afternoon on September 16th. It was the second part of the Sandurot celebrations. While the 10 contingents were ready to go, the start was delayed by an hour due to us unknown circumstances. Considering which country we are, we could say that the street dancing started actually early…
The organizers decided that the contingents would use the same soundtrack all along the route to perform their dances. While it is generally a great idea to have the whole area in a single cloud of sound, the fact that along the boulevard were many cars parked cranked up the soundtrack to the maximum with about half of the speakers broken made it at some spots rather dreadful.
However, that did not affect the performaers who did a great job in the heat of this sunny afternoon.
The route for the street dancing was quite simple and quick. The heat of the afternoon struck the streets and the dancers, never the less, this added to the dramatic and colorful change to their performance. Both locals and guests who watched the festivity enjoyed themselves to the one music of the Sandurot Festival.
