Kanglambat Festival 2016
Vallehermoso – Negros Oriental
It was our second visit at the Kanglambat Festival 2016 in Vallehermoso, the most northern province of Negros Oriental. The whole municipality seemed to line up on the streets of the Vallehermoso to watch the contingents in their colorful costumes dancing and performing along the streets.
Kanglambat Festival Street Dancing & Showdown
While the street dancing of the Kanglambat Festival started with the typical delay, the dancers were doing their very best to entertain all spectators, despite the heat.
When the showdown was about to start and all VIPs were greeted, one of last week’s election losers of the municipality needed to give an almost endless speech about being 1st runner up.
It is certainly unfair to the dancers and the whole audience to let them standing in heat, boiling in the sun, just because someone needs to share their personal disappointments. That was out of place and didn’t win any brownie-points.
Despite that really not necessary speech, the showdown was an entertaining event with great performers and nice choreography.
We are looking already forward to come back to Vallehermoso and to celebrate the Kanglambat Festival 2017 next year.
