GSIS Emergency Loan

Requirements and Procedures

GSIS Emergency Loan

The Government Service Insurance System or GSIS is now accepting Emergency Loan Applications. In this article, you will learn How to apply for a GSIS Emergency Loan, though the GSIS Wireless Automated Processing System (GWAPS) kiosk or though complete online application via email.

Who can apply for a GSIS Emergency Loan?

To qualify for the emergency loan, the member-applicant must be:

  • a bona fide resident or employee of the government office within the declared calamity area;
  • be in active service and not on leave of absence without pay;
  • has no arrearages in the payment of mandatory social insurance contributions; and
  • has no loan that has been declared in default.

Terms & Conditions:

The Emergency Loan is offered to members who are adversely affected by calamities.  The loan is payable in three years or 36 equal monthly installments at an interest rate of six percent per annum. If renewed, the balance of the outstanding loan will be deducted from the proceeds of the new loan.

Borrower can loan Twenty Thousand Pesos (P20, 000.00).

Loan Cancellation

Once the emergency loan is approved and the loan proceeds have been credited in the eCard or other mode of disbursement, the borrower has no more option to cancel the loan but only to pre-terminate it by paying the full amount of the outstanding balance including accrued interests, if any, without any right to demand the reimbursement of service fee and such other fees that might have been deducted under such loan.

Application through GWAPS Kiosk

Members with a GSIS eCard / UMID card may apply for an Emergency Loan through the GSIS Wireless Automated Processing System (GWAPS) kiosk. However, due to the Enhanced Community Quarantine (ECQ), GSIS is also offering online application.

GSIS Online Application

Step 1. Download the Application Form here.
Step 2.  Fill out the form and prepare the following in JPEG or PDF files

Dully Accomplished Application Form
Clear picture of borrower holding his/her GSIS UMID eCard or temporary eCard
If GSIS UMID eCard or temporary eCard is not available, present two valid IDs instead
Take a clear photo of the two valid IDs (front & back) and take a clear photo of the borrower bolding the two ID cards.

Step 3. Email all the files with this format as the subject:

(Type of GSIS Loan_BP Number_Last Name_First Name_Agency Name)
exampler: EMERGENCYLOAD_2000123456_DELA CRUZ_JUAN RAMOS_DPWH CEBU

Step 4. Send all the documents (maximum of 2MB per email) to your respective Offices:

NCR (Including QC and Cavite) gsiscares@gsis.gov.ph
North Luzon gsisnorthluzon@gsis.gov.ph
South Luzon gsissouthluzon@gsis.gov.ph
Visayas Area gsisvisayas@gsis.go.ph
Mindanao Area gsismindanao@gsis.gov.ph

After sending the email please wait for the following:

1. Email Acknowledgment from GSIS
2. Tentative Loan Computation and Loan Conformity
3. Notification of incomplete and/or non-compliant document (if possible)

For Active Members, one you have submitted the Load Conformity, GSIS shall be forwarding it to your respective AAOs for certification.
