LTO Dumaguete Opens New District Office
Faster Services, Modern Facilities, Improved Driver Licensing and Vehicle Registration.
DUMAGUETE CITY – The Land Transportation Office (LTO) has officially launched its brand-new District Office in Dumaguete City, marking a major step toward improving public service in Negros Oriental. Located along Eduardo J. Blanco Extension, close to RUSI Ballfield. The new facility is designed to provide faster, more efficient, and more comfortable transactions for motorists.
A Modern Facility Built for Efficiency
The newly constructed office responds to the growing number of clients in Dumaguete and nearby areas. With significantly expanded space, the facility is built to reduce congestion and shorten waiting times—two of the most common concerns among LTO visitors.
Clients can now expect:
- Larger transaction areas
- More service counters
- Improved workflow for quicker processing
This upgrade ensures that daily operations—from license applications to vehicle registrations—run more smoothly than ever before.
Enhanced Driver Licensing and Testing Areas
A key highlight of the new district office is its upgraded licensing center. The facility now includes modern biometric systems and advanced data-capturing stations, allowing for faster and more accurate processing of driver’s license applications.
In addition, both theoretical and practical driving examinations are now conducted in more structured and professional environments. These improvements help ensure that new drivers meet the required standards before hitting the road, reinforcing the LTO’s commitment to road safety.
Better Comfort for the Public
Beyond efficiency, the new office places strong emphasis on client comfort. Spacious, air-conditioned waiting areas have been added to create a more pleasant experience for everyone.
By increasing counter capacity and improving queue management, the LTO aims to minimize long lines and provide a more dignified service environment—something that has long been requested by the public.
Old Office Repurposed for Regional Operations
The opening of the new district office does not mean the closure of the previous facility. Instead, the LTO is maximizing its resources by transforming the old Dumaguete office into a fully operational Regional Office and New Registrations Unit.
This strategic move allows the agency to:
- Separate district-level transactions from regional functions
- Handle new vehicle registrations more efficiently
- Reduce overcrowding in the main office
With two active locations, the LTO effectively strengthens its presence in Dumaguete, offering more specialized and accessible services to the community.
Continuing Commitment to Quality Service and Road Safety
While infrastructure improvements play a key role in modernization, the LTO remains focused on its core mission—ensuring road safety and delivering reliable public service.
With better facilities, improved systems, and dedicated personnel, the agency continues to raise the standard of government service in Dumaguete City and across Negros Oriental.
