COMELEC Barangay Election and SK 2018
Finally, the Department of Interior and Local Government (DILG) and the Commission of Election (COMELEC) will push through with this year’s Barangay Election 2018 and Sangguniang Kabataan (SK) Election 2018. After being postponed for almost two years now, it is time for new leaders to lead the community.

Certificate of Candidacy and Campaigning
For this year’s Barangay Election and SK Elections, filling up of the Certificate of Candidacy (COC) will start on April 14, 2018 and end at April 20, 2018. Campaigning period for the running candidates will be allotted from May 2 – 12, 2018.
James Jimenez the COMELEC Spokesperson have assured that the ballots are ready as they will be using the same ones originally printed for the October 2017 slate. The counting of the votes will be done manually since it is a smaller scope unlike the Presidential Elections. The budget for this year’s SK Elections is summed up to PHP 6 Billion. Election Day will be on May 14, 2018.
