Barangay Election 2022 – Start of Registration!
The Barangay Election 2022 is to take place on December 5, 2022. Commission on Elections (Comelec) Office is encouraging all qualified voters to register for this upcoming barangay and Sangguniang Kabataan (SK) election. The voter’s registration will start Monday, July 4, until July 23, 2022. According to the Comelec office, they will be open from Monday to Saturday from 8am-5pm (even on holidays).
SK Election & Barangay Election 2022
This upcoming election will be held at the end of the year 2022. However, there were proposals in the 18th Congress to postpone it and use the money for COVID-19 response. Barangay elections are often postponed. The last Barangay and SK Election was held in 2018. Which means, the current barangay officials have been on a holdover capacity since then.
Dahil maikli lang ang panahon ng pagrehistro para makatupad ang Comelec sa mga batas at alintuntunin ng halalan, hinihiling namin na huwag ng hintayin ang mga huling araw ng pagpapatala para makaseguro ng pagrehistro,” the poll body said in a statement Sunday.
(Since the Comelec had to keep the registration period short to comply with the law and its responsibilities for the upcoming polls, we are asking that they don’t wait until the last minute to register.)
