The municipality of Jimalalud is also known as “the Little Big Town” of Negros Oriental. It is located about 99 kilometers north of the capital of the province, Dumaguete City. Back in 1797, the area was part of a bigger town called Tayasan. It was made an independent municipality in the year 1910. Aside from the rich history of the whole municipality, there are also great sceneries to enjoy. Jimalalud has the Tañon Strait to its east and stretches westwards ‘til the town of Banalbagan, Negros Oriental. It is blessed with both marine and agricultural resources.
