West City Elementary School – SPED

West City Elementary School Exceptional Child Learning Center (SPED) has been chosen as one of the fifty seven (57) schools piloted for the Special Science Elementary School Project under the Bureau of Elementary Education. Recognizing education as the primary concern of the school, WCES SPED has been lucky enough to receive SSES funds which was downloaded to the division and used to purchase necessary laboratory equipment to be used by the pupils.

Activities of the SSES implementation helped carry out the schools mission and vision. The school through its dedicated teaching force tries its best in molding the young generation in preparing them to face life realities and challenges through education. As a pilot school of SSES Project, efforts have been made to achieve the expectations as a recipient

School and as an effective institution. The school’s achievements show its worth as a Special Science Elementary School.

Mrs. Miguelita C. Pis-an (Fast Learners Pupils )
Mrs. Riza S. Garbo (Hearing Impairment)
Mrs. Juliet C. Sanjaco ( Intellectually Disabled)

Demographics of SPED

West City Elementary School Exceptional Child Learning Center (SPED) is located, like the name suggests, within the vicinity of West City Elementary School. During the school year 2013-14 a total number of 371 pupils were enrolled at SPED.
Fast Learners: 212
Hearing Impaired: 57
Visually Impaired: 16
Mentally Challenged: 86

The children were taught by 20 teachers in 19 classes. One utility worker supports the teaching staff.
