Silliman University 124th Founders Day – Parada Sillimaniana on August 27, was a major event within the university’s month-long celebration, featuring various contingents and concluded with a Unity Service. The celebration theme was “Embracing Christ’s Peace, Cultivating Care, and Re-Visioning Excellence,” and the event featured a wide range of participants, including alumni, students, and community groups. The Silliman Founders Day Parade in Dumaguete City was as expected…awesome! Being called as the university town, Silliman Students takes pride in putting on the best show they can for all visitors to see. Showcasing a story of diverse culture, hospitality, and history, the Parada Sillimaniana is one of the most awaited events during the whole celebration as people line up on the street to witness it. The Parada Sillimaniana is much more than a “just another Parade—it’s a living tradition that:
- Unites students, alumni, faculty, and the Dumaguete community in a joyful public display of school pride.
- Offers a creative platform for departmental identity, class reunions, and cultural expression through themed floats, performances, and student showcases.
- Acts as a highlight of Founders Week, embedding religious reverence, community service, nostalgia, and festivity into one signature event.
