Labor Day Job Fair 2025 in Dumaguete
Over 4,000 Jobs Up for Grabs
DUMAGUETE CITY – Job seekers in Negros Oriental will have the opportunity to explore over 4,000 local and overseas employment opportunities during a Labor Day Mega Job Fair on May 1, organized by the provincial government in partnership with the Department of Labor and Employment (DOLE).
The event will be held at the Lamberto Macias Sports Center from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. and aims to connect job seekers with potential employers while streamlining access to vital government services through an integrated one-stop shop.
A Unified Effort to Empower the Workforce
According to Alein Balsamo, head of the Public Employment Service Office (PESO) in Negros Oriental, the initiative underscores the province’s commitment to economic recovery and employment generation. Speaking at a Kapihan forum, Balsamo emphasized that Labor Day is more than a symbolic date—it is a recognition of the “dedication, resilience, and unwavering hard work of the Filipino workforce.”
The job fair will feature 14 local companies offering 701 job vacancies and five overseas recruitment agencies providing 3,477 opportunities abroad, particularly in industries such as healthcare, engineering, construction, and hospitality.
Government Services at Your Fingertips
In addition to job matching, attendees can also access essential government services. Participating agencies include the National Bureau of Investigation (NBI), Department of Trade and Industry (DTI), Social Security System (SSS), and the Technical Education and Skills Development Authority (TESDA). These agencies will provide services such as document processing, business consultations, and skills training information—making the event a one-stop hub for employment and career development.
The job fair reflects a proactive approach to addressing unemployment and ensuring that job seekers have the tools and support they need to succeed.
