Brief History of Balugo
The name of this barrio has a reference to the name of the tree called “Balugo”. It is possible that Balugo trees were found only in this place and in the absence of some special or spectacular events or phenomena in the place, the name “Balugon was adopted and remains unchanged up to the present.

Balugo Elementary School
The Balugo Elementary School is located in the west of Dumaguete City 200 meters from Palinpinon Road at Candau-Ay across the Banica River close to the Dump side. It is a relatively small school with just under 450 pupils.
