Hermenegilda F. Gloria Memorial Elementary School
Hermenegilda F. Gloria Memorial Elementary School (HFGMES )is located in Barangay Banilad, Dumaguete City. It is located at the southern part of Barangay Banilad and is five hundred meters away from the South National Highway. HFGMES is a public institution, committed to the formation of the total person providing quality basic education that is accessible to all. The Barangay Council is supportive to the school programs and projects.
Hermenegilda F. Gloria Memorial Elementary School is a complete elementary school that has an average level of pupil-performance based on an analysis done by the Division of Dumaguete City basing on the mean percentage scores of all schools in the division of Dumaguete City for the last three years.
Brief History of Hermenegilda F. Gloria Memorial Elementary School
Hermenegilda F. Gloria Memorial Elementary School was established in June 1997 when its gates opened for the first time. The school first opened with grades I and II only and had been serving the community even extending its services to its’ neighboring barangays. It began so simple and learning took place in a makeshift. However, its growth is so rapid. In the year 2000, the doors of HFGMES were opened to all grade levels with one section each. The name of the school is taken in memory of the owner of the lot who is Hermenegilda F. Gloria.

HFGMES had for the school year 13/14 a total enrollment of 405 pupils consisting of 240 boys and 165 girls elementary pupils. The performance indicator showed that the percentage of dropout rate is 0% for the past 3 years. The school has 12 classrooms, each of them with an individual comfort room. 16 teacher are tasking care of the the students. One additional non-teaching staff member helps to keep the daily business rolling.
The repetition rate is decreased by 2.53% from 7% to 4.47%. It has a total land area of 8,743 square meters and was acquired through donation by the kind hearted Flores Family.
At present, its school population continues to increase which resulted to the creation of additional section/ sections per grade level. Its school campus provides facilities conducive to learning. The dedicated school head and effective faculty members and staff join hand towards the pursuit of achieving the Department of Education Mission.

Future of the School
The teachers were given seminars for the purpose of enhancing their teaching skills and capabilities in teaching the different learning areas like Math, English, Filipino, Science and Health, HEKASI, MSEP, and EPP.
This plan is developed based on the needs of the school, prioritizing and identifying the target of profitability on the pupils. Every stakeholder intends to use and implement this plan in a progressive manner so as to see and be able to reap whatever has been cultivated. Thus, we the undersigned stakeholders convened and took part in the realization of the School Improvement Plan.
