Barangay Pulantubig
The Barangay of Pulantubig in the north of Dumaguete City, close to the airport. A population of 3,500 calls this Barrio their home.
Brief History of Pulantubig
Within this barrio, at one place is a huge red rock, which has existed since mankind can think back. The water passing through this red rock is red. Hence the barrio has been named Pulantubig long time back, which means literally red water.
Magsaysay Memorial Elementary School
The school was formerly named Pulantubig Elementary School. It was in 1956 when the school’s name was change to Magsaysay Memorial Elementary School in honor of the late President Ramon Magsaysay. It was during his presidency when the first concrete building was constructed. 25 faculty members taking care of 960 pupils. (More Info about MMES)
