Poblacion 4 – Rizal Boulevard
Barangay Poblacion 4 is known by each and every visitor ever came to Dumaguete City as the Barangay includes the world famous Rizal Boulevard, the city’s window facing the ocean. The population of this area is just under 300, but there might be almost an equal number of businesses located at Poblacion 4; at least when one counts all vendors. While for some a unpleasant pain, most Dumagueteños and guests simply love a stroll along the Rizal Boulevard, buying some ice-candy, chicharrón or balut, and simply enjoy life.
BarangayFiesta: The Barangay holds no own fiesta but celebrates together with Dumaguete City every 25th of November the Dumaguete City Fiesta. There are also many celebrations all around the year at the Rizal Boulevard. Negros Oriental’s very own Buglasan celebrations, Santa Cruzan and many other occasions are celebrated at the boulevard.
City Central Elementary School
The City Central elementary School is on the compound of the City Hall. Formerly known as East Elementary School it was renamed in the 80′s. Even the school is located in Barangay 4, it is also the educational center for the neighboring Barangays 1, 2 and 3. More than 35 teacher are taking care of over 1250 pupils in three buildings.
