Brief History of Junob National High School

Junob National High School was established on June, 1983 by the City Council of Dumaguete City. It started as an extension of Dumaguete City High School in SY 1983-1984. The first year classes, with a total enrolment of 66 students, were opened using the facilities of Junob Elementary School. The subjects were taught by its pioneering teachers, Mrs. Rosalinda L. Banquerigo and Mrs. Cornella V. Verances headed by its principal, Mr. Sergio T. Somido of Dumaguete City High School.

As the environment grew, the need for better student’s accommodation became urgent. The City Government of Dumaguete wasted no time in negotiating for the acquisition of the present site. From then on, more building and facilities were built. The latest structure is the two storey building with 8 classrooms.
